Not so sweet

Anyone here love Crush Soda? Well I do and the one thing I love most about visiting Canada is that they have more readily available flavours; pineapple, peach, grape, fruit punch, strawberry, and they even had a cream soda that was to die for. However none of these hold a candle to the most important of all - LIME! It is divine.

Well while on an outing with the Madre she encountered some Lime Crush. Doth our eyes deceive us? No sir it looked like the real deal. So we snatch it all up and check out. Well she said if it's a limited time we should buy as much as we can. So we do just that-clean out the entire case and while waiting in line I think we should try it just to make sure it. Which is silly why would it not taste legit? Long story short - we put back what we hadn't paid for and skulked on out of there. It was devastating. It was NOT Lime Crush. NO siree. So for those that have found this new lil heaven on earth don't do it. Just back away slowly. One more reason to return to Canada - and soon! I am in dire need now that my taste buds were expecting it - so it must be. Canada or bust!

saddest.story.ever.

Jade plant has root rot. But don't go jumping to the conclusion that I was the one that gave it a lil too much love in the water department. Nope that was the madre. When it began going south she was so nice as to gift it to me. I'd post a picture but it's just pitiful.

7 things about me

I love the sun! And you can still get tan even when you wear sunblock. Whoever taught me it didn't - you deserve to burn!

I don't like to drive. Because of my ankle problems it would hurt to drive for more than 15 minutes. Hopefully that will change here soon.

I LOVE watching movies in 3-D. It's always worth the extra dough. PROMISE!

I hang out with mum every day! She is my best friend.

I LOVE basketball!

I love to bake, however most the time it always has something in it that the one boy I would gift it to wouldn't eat. So he just goes without. More for me!

I am going to Roswell, New Mexico in a few months. Any thoughts on this?

Enjoy your Monday! I'm off to the dr...for fun!

Grab a coke and take a sit, because I just did

I went to 3 quilt stores in 3 days. Do you know what that means?! It means I got out of the house! I of course went to the Dr but that isn't an adventure that is doom! So of course I buried myself in my bed and didn't want to come out and my mum insisted I go for a drive. I did and you know what? I had fun! We even went to Costco. Umm not as fun as last time...but I still got to drive around and eat samples! So hello of course it was amazing! Every time we manage to go out I actually never get out of the car. {with the exception of Costco well because I would do anything to drive the lil cart around.} Each day I get in the car with my ice cold coke with lime and just enjoy the view. Every time I think, "Why is it I didn't bring a book/magazine/suduko?" Instead I sit for 20-30 minutes while mum shops around. Yet I am completely content with doing just that. Until one doesn't have it you forget the simple things you take for granted.

It just reminded me of a field trip I took I'd guess in the 2nd grade. We walked to Albertson's. Doesn't that sound incredible? Well at that time it was, and that is comparable to how I feel when I get to go out. It's just nice to go somewhere new. And we even got cookies from the bakery on that field trip. Umm simple and fun! That's how these adventures are for me today. Simple yet fun! So do something today that is just that! Unless you are doomed to a hectic schedule and than I don't pity you because I've been there and done that. And don't see myself going back to that. Instead these days I watch tv like it's my job. Should I be concerned? NAH it's normal, right?

So did I tell you?!

I moved! I live not at home but at my new home and not too far from my old home. Which is a good thing seein as I was missin my mum after the first day. I'm lame I know. SO I love my job and I love my family and I love my friends and I also thing I love my new found perspective on life. Well it's not new it's old but I just rekindled my friendship with it. It was loooong overdue. So I logged onto my google reader today and I had I can't remember like 72 new posts to read. What the tuna peeps you all wrote something and I've barely made a dent in it. Soon enough. SO I don't have much to write. I have loads I could write but it is just the daily innerworkings of my head and it's not like it's somethin you peeps would pay to read. So seeing as I spent the majority of my day with my mum we ended up at home watching HAIRSPRAY! Now I adore this movie. I got to see it in Boston with my sweet lil' 12 year old friend Livi. It was so fun to have a girl's night out with her and since then I have just loved everything about it! So to those that have yet to watch it seriously peeps you are missin out. Everything about it is so cheesy and I think that's what makes it so great.
p.s. who else totally loved Queen Latifah's blonde hair?! I love it!

My mother!

The point of this post is because yesterday in preparation for our dinner last night mum and I headed to the store to pick some things up. While there she struck up a conversation with several firemen that were conversing about recipes. I know random but hey that's my mum and definitely the reason I love her. But it was too cute to see her sharing ideas about what they could make and the genuine listening ear on their part. They couldn't wait to get a start on her suggestion. TOO CUTE peeps. Really now who just randomly does this? My mum that's who :) So because I'm telling you about it I figured I'd share the recipe with you. ENJOY and loves* Okay so actually I lied I can't find the recipe so I'll post it lata playas! Peace out

JOY!! Here it is-I found it

So I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a fabulous enrichment meeting this weekend (or women's conference) We had a guest speaker who taught some amazing principles some that I really want to apply in my life. I'll break it down for you; of the two first commandments they have a commonality-LOVE. Perfect for this time of year right? Totally planned? I'm sure of it. But of course there is a forgotten commandment-thou shalt not compare. Duh peeps if you compare you will judge; and who wants to be judged? I say not it-I totally don't want it. So what's the big deal if we do compare? It allows us to be prideful which really ultimatly in the end erodes our self worth. Sad moment if we enable that. We need only compare from within oneself. That's the only individual we should comapre. US! None of us will ever be perfect but we can always be perfecting ourselves. And looking at where we have been and where we are going. If it is not a priority then do away with it. K it's as simple as that. So in the end peeps it's all about compasion; first to ourselves and then to everyone else. Be consistent and always daily be filling your bucket. IT's not hard - only if we make it hard does it become hard.

And a good song to go along with what we were taught this weekend (besides the one that was sung-Daughter of a King) is Man in the Mirror by Micheal Jackson. I used to sing this song all the time as a lil girl! I love it because it starts with you! I'M STARTING WITH THE MAN IN THE MIRROR-I'M ASKING HIM TO CHANGE HIS WAYS-AND NO MESSAGE COULD'VE BEEN CLEARER-IF YOU WANNA MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE-TAKE A LOOK AT YOURSELF AND MAKE A CHANGE! So let's do it peeps! Loves*

I pretty much love...

* Listening to audio cd's from church speakers; anything about Joseph Smith or about how the Lord is taking care of us and how to apply gospel principles. All great things I get from taking time to listen.

* Making new friends and getting to know the old ones better :)

* Pancakes!

* Watered down apple juice or better yet chocolate milk on the rocks.

* Baking; esp trying out new recipies and of course stayin true to the classic oldies but goodies.

* Weddings! They are so much fun; from the dancing to the eating to the attire gotta love it all!

* Going to the movies!

* Late night chats on the phone.

* Spending time with my family; any and all of them.

* unanswered prayers, not always what I'm looking for but definately find great joy in knowing that I can believe in myself because my Heavenly Father does.

* Sleeping by the poolside even better when it's at least 76 or warmer out.

* Green bananas; pretty much God's gift to me. Okay that sounds awful but I truly do love them :D

* Catching up with old friends; even if it's been a while you can pick up right where you left off.

* Blogging-it is such a guilty pleasure

* Chats with my mother; she cracks me up! Just today we had a wonderful conversation about card games. Ha so funny my mum is.

* My nieces and nephews; such beautiful gifts from a loving Heavenly Father.

* The smell of rain, esp late at night.

* Sports; watching them is the best ever.

* Roadtrips where you listen to any and everything talk about who knows what and then get back to normal when all is said and done. They are very profound things-roadtrips.

* Sleepovers with my baby sis-even though she can't stand the whole sharing a bed thing. You'd think it were the end of the world or something. Yeesh

* Recognizing God in my day to day life. There are so many tender mercies and I'm sure I don't catch them all but I know He's there and He has my best interest in mind. Even on the worst of the worst days.

* Mint hot chocolate really late at night or early in the morning-amazing! Even better with a candy cane.

* I have a pig fetish; I love the idea of hoping to own one when I am older.

* Reading any given talk from any general authority; I have a collection if you must know :)

* Writing cards to friends-I love the personal touch you can add vs just an email or facebooking them.

* Talking with the 'rents

* Crawling into bed on any given night! It's amazing.

Quilting Pancakes

Posted by StephieMae 0 sweet comments
Okay so not like I actually quilted pancakes but I did enjoy both interests today. I was excited when I awoke because it was all you can eat dollar pancakes at McDonalds; which I helped with so I was excited to go. Hannah, Jacob and I were so excited! Can I tell you I have never enJoyed pancakes unless it involves chocolate syrup and chocolate chips...every six weeks when feeding the sisters. So being the hater I am I didn't think I'd like them-but I loved them! Way delicious!

Afterwards I dropped the kids off and headed home to tell my mum I took on the bishops quilt for his farewell party. Which meant ALL of it. LOL So I did what any daughter would do and recruited; mother and the sister missionaries. So we headed to the quilt store to get fabric and let me tell you those quilt ladies at the store couldn't get rid of us fast enough...it's as if we were ruining their lives by shopping there. I'm not bitter. So the sisters met up at my house and we went to work. We made a good dent within a couple hours so upon semi completion we decided to go out tracting; the weather was great and the company couldn't have been better! I love sister Kimball and Menke!

Anyways by six that night I was home all by myself doing absolutley nothing but piddling around accomplishing nothing. ha ha so let's waste time; which fyi I love to do-watching Gilmore Girls! So that's my Saturday night; hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

The Proof of this Joy in Me!
